Magpie legal
Revision 15
Magpie is proprietary freeware from Ayers Electronics Inc. It is free to use and it is not open source. A Magpie server serves these same pages, so a server you run shows them whether or not the machine has internet access.
Terms of useWhat you may do with Magpie, what needs written permission, and the warranty and liability terms.
Privacy policyAyers Electronics Inc holds no account for you and sees nothing of your library. Where your data lives and what the software connects to.
Third-party noticesEvery component Magpie includes or invokes that it does not own, with its license and required attribution.
The short version
- Magpie is free to download, install, and use in the form it is distributed in.
- Redistributing it, modifying it, reverse engineering it, or reselling access to it needs written permission. Sharing through Magpie's own networks does not.
- Ayers Electronics Inc holds no account for you. It runs watchmagpie.com, which hosts the WatchMagpie lineup and lists public networks; the privacy notice says what reaches it. Magpie apps connect to each network you add. One of them can be a server you run; none is required. What you host lives on the server you run.
- You are responsible for the media you host and for having the right to use it. Magpie supplies none of it.
- Magpie is provided as is, with no warranty.
